Board Of Advisors

    The Board of Advisors provide advice and recommendations to the organization from time to time. They meet twice a year and make written recommendations/advise to the Management through the Executive Director, who in turn informs the Board of Directors. Once agreed by the Board of Directors, the Management, headed by the Executive Director develops implementation tool from the recommendations/advise.

    Dr. Alexander Eduful

    Alexander is a member of both the Board of Directors and Board of Advisors of Family Support Lifeline (FASUL), Accra-based NGO which undertakes development interventions in rural and under-served communities in Ashanti and Central Regions of Ghana with support from the Kiphart Family and other families of Chicago and the University of Chicago’s Center for Global Health (CGH). He also serves as FASUL’s Executive Director. Improving lives for people in rural and under-served communities is a life-time passion of Dr. Eduful.

    Between January and June 2020, Eduful held adjunct lectureship position at Ghana’s Ashesi University. He previously worked at Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as a senior university architect. In previous engagements, Eduful held several positions including part-time lecturer at the Department of Architecture, KNUST, tutor at the Oxford University School of Geography and the Environment (SoGE) and Vice-President of the Northern Chapter of the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA).

    Eduful holds a PhD from the Oxford University, a Master in Design Studies degree (urbanism landscape ecology concentration) from the Harvard University, and MSc Environmental Resources Management and Graduate Diploma in Architecture from KNUST. He also holds a diploma in Oil and Gas Management from Institute for Professional and Executive Education (IPED), UK. He has also undergone training in project management at Knowledge Tree Technologies, Accra and the US Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) at KlingStubbins, Cambridge, MA. With his interdisciplinary background, Eduful’s research interests intersect urban development and urbanization, environmental resources, and architecture. He has presented at several local and international conferences including at the 2018 Royal Geographical Society (RGS) academic conference in Cardiff, UK. A recent publication of his, ‘Reconsidering the entrepreneurial city in an African context’ in Geoforum 106, for the Ghana Studies Association’s (GSA) 2020 Boahen-Wilks Prize received an ‘Honorable Mention’ by the GSA’s selection panel (http://ghanastudies.com/announcements/2020-boahen-wilks-prize-winner-jennifer-hart/). He is a reviewer for several reputable academic journals. Eduful won the Ray-Achirobe memorial prize for the overall best student in the 1997 BSc Design graduation class, obtained an Excellent grade (Distinction) in the MSc degree program in 2010 at the KNUST and the best project case study report prize in the 2003 Ghana Institute of Architects/Architects Registration Council (GIA/ARC) architectural licensing examinations.

    Currently, beginning from March 2020, Dr. Eduful occupies the position of Director of Works and Physical Development, one of the key officer positions at Ghana’s Sunyani Technical University (STU) and, as such, serves on several university committees. He is also a founding partner and Principal Architect of Ulfeax Green Group (UGG), a design and construct firm based in Kumasi, Ghana since 2009.
