Board Of Advisors

    The Board of Advisors provide advice and recommendations to the organization from time to time. They meet twice a year and make written recommendations/advise to the Management through the Executive Director, who in turn informs the Board of Directors. Once agreed by the Board of Directors, the Management, headed by the Executive Director develops implementation tool from the recommendations/advise.

    Dr. John Jude Annan

    Dr. Annan has keenly applied himself to the pursuit of excellence in medical practice throughout his medical career in Ghana and the UK, practicing as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and reproductive medicine, infertility and assisted conception sub-specialist and teaching medical and graduate students from various social and cultural backgrounds. Due to his passion to contribute to medical education and research into women’s health in Ghana, Dr. Annan relocated to Ghana and joined the academic department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana as a lecturer.

    He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST, and was appointed in 2016 as an Honorary Consultant in Endocrinology and Infertility, Directorate of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi, Ghana. He previously, between 2012 and 2014, worked as a Sub-Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Infertility and Assisted Conception in the Homerton University Hospital Fertility Centre, UK.

    He graduated from the School of Medical Sciences, KNUST with BSc., MB. ChB. in the year 2000 and completed housemanship training at KATH and later obtained a National Training Number (NTN) to pursue structured postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the London Deanery under the London Specialty School of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (LSSOG) with special interest in Acute Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Problems, Benign Gynaecological Surgery (Laparoscopy) and Advanced Labour Ward Practice. He obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG)/General Medical Council. Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy at the University of Surrey Guildford, London and a Post CCT Fellowship training in Reproductive Medicine, Infertility and Assisted Conception from the Homerton University Hospital Fertility Centre.

    Dr. Annan is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and Fellow of the International College of Surgeons. He also holds membership of local and international bodies such as Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health of RCOG (FSRH/RCOG-UK), The British Fertility Society (BFS-UK), British Society of Gynae. Endoscopists (BSGE), European Society of Gynae. Endoscopists (ESGE), International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG), American Society of Reproductive Med. (ASRM), Fertility Society of Ghana (FERSOG) and Society of Obstetricians and Gyanecologists of Ghana (SOGOG). He is also on the Specialist Register of The General Medical Council of UK (GMC-UK).

    Dr Annan is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles, chapters in departmental handbooks, international and national textbooks on various subjects in obstetrics and gynaecology. He has been involved in research as principal investigator and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also developed protocols and standard operating procedures for management of various conditions in obstetrics and gynaecology.

    He has also been a Facilitator/Speaker at both local and international academic and scientific meetings and presented on various range of topics in obstetrics and gynaecology. He currently serves on various committees at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST, and a board member of Endometriosis Awareness Research Foundation (EARF) of Ghana. Dr. Jude Annan is passionate about women’s health issues and advises FASUL on family and women health and development.
