Having received his appointment as the Director of the newly-established Susan and Richard Kipharts Center for Global Health and Social Development (KCGHSD) at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice of the University of Chicago, Prof. Chaskin visited Ghana to get firsthand information on previously implemented projects as well as ongoing ones. The Director of FASUL together with Field Team accompanied Prof. Chaskin to inspect previously implemented as well as ongoing projects in the Kiphart Beneficiary communities.

In order to broaden the livelihood enhancing interventions in deprived communities while ensuring sustainability of FASUL’s program in that respect, the Director of FASUL also led Prof. Chaskin to some local and university institutions including Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, Sunyani Technical University, STU, University of Energy and Natural Resources,UENR, and Ejisu Municipal Assembly etc. in a bid to promote collaborations with both academics and other policy institutions. This collaboration will also allow the expansion and deepen the interventions of the Susan and Richard Kiphart Center for Global Health and Social Development in Ghana and at the University of Chicago in general.
